Recently, Woodbury, Tennessee-based integrator Cobb Home Innovations completed installation of a luxury home theater in Greensboro, North Carolina. Client expectations for an exceptional audio and video experience were high, and Cobb relied on only the absolute best products available to deliver it.

For unrivalled audio quality, the space was outfitted with Pro Audio cinema loudspeakers, an Acurus power amplifier, Ayon tube amplifiers and Lumen White speakers for two-channel audio, and acoustical wall and ceiling treatments. Video from a Kaleidescape movie server is played out in spectacular detail by a Barco projector custom built into the ceiling. In addition, Lutron lighting and shades set the scene in the room, while an Epic Sky Technology custom Star Panel ceiling dazzles with special effects like shooting stars and fireworks.

But as important as all this sophisticated technology was to the enjoyment of the home theater, the client didn’t lose sight of another critical element — controlling it.

The home theater’s control system is powered by RTI’s XP-8v advanced processor, which provides one-touch control over the Acurus and Ayon amplifiers, Kaleidescape movie server, and Barco projector, in addition to lighting and shading and the Star Panel ceiling. The homeowner interacts with the system via a T3x handheld controller with a white finish or an iPad running the RTiPanel app. In addition, an Alexa driver for the XP-8v provides voice control capabilities.
