For Jimmy Logue, the renowned golf pro at Muirfield Village Golf Course, delivering an exceptional experience for players and coaches was the driving force behind his new state-of-the-art golf training facility in Dublin, Ohio.

Logue tapped leading integration firm Lime Wire Automation to design and implement a sophisticated, user-friendly control and automation system that would elevate every aspect of the facility. The goal was to create a seamless, technology-driven environment that would allow coaches to focus on honing their students' skills, rather than grappling with complex AV systems.

"Jimmy Logue Golf needed a solution for secure, integrated, and user-friendly access control, AV distribution, and overall system management," explained Nic Harper, CTO at Lime Wire Automation. "Our approach was to integrate all the technologies through the RTI system to create an ideal training environment, while ensuring the system was simple enough for anyone to operate."

At the heart of the solution is the RTI control and automation platform. Lime Wire used the RTI XP-8v control processor to orchestrate the facility's diverse array of technologies, including high-end golf simulation software from Foresight Sports and Trackman Golf, Science & Motion PuttStudio, Sony professional displays and projectors, and a comprehensive access control system from UniFi.

To enable seamless AV distribution throughout the facility, Lime Wire relied on the RTI Video over IP (VIP) solution. "We are able to seamlessly integrate all the audio and visual components of the space, creating a user-friendly environment for players and coaches," said Harper. "The RTI VIP system allows us to broadcast any video source to the displays and screens where it's needed."

One key requirement was enabling coaches to view any of the golf bays from the facility's central office. Lime Wire achieved this by integrating KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) functionality into the touchscreen control interfaces powered by the RTI system. This gives Logue and his team the ability to monitor and even control the simulation bays from a central location. This also enables real-time feedback to assist clients in improving their performance. "No one is using AV over IP like this in the golf training space," Harper noted. "The level of visibility, control, and automation we enable is truly unique. This will revolutionize the industry for more efficient time use on practice vs configuration of the golf technology. Keep your head in the game and focus on your golf technique."

Beyond the AV and control systems, Lime Wire also integrated a UniFi access control solution. This allows patrons to securely enter the facility using PIN codes, access cards, or even their smartphones, while the facility can log all activity for security and billing purposes. The result is a seamlessly integrated, high-performance golf training environment that delights both players and coaches.
